I want a base item where the value can still be modified

Sometimes you may want to use a base item from your item library, but still adjust its value for a specific invoice without changing the original item in your library.

Solution​

  1. Open the invoice that contains the item.

  2. Locate the item row you want to modify.

  3. On the right-hand side of the item row, click the ellipsis menu (⋮) to open the action options.

  4. Click Edit.

  5. Update the fields you want to change.

  6. Make sure the checkbox “Update in item library” is left unchecked.

note

Leaving it unchecked ensures the edit applies only to this invoice.

warning

If you check this option, the change will be applied to the saved item in your library.

  1. Click Update Item to apply the changes.
